Azores or as the portuguese say it Açores. The european Hawaii. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. I was there with my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfriend. Let me share with you what we saw.
If we are in Norway we’re better to see some fjords. That was the idea. The closest option for some actual arctic looking fjord was the one next to a little town called Flåm. From Oslo it is a 7 hours train ride. So the next day we woke up early to catch that train and travel up north. If you ask a norwegian Flåm is still south but you know… from a certain point of view.
Here we are in the morning of the first full day in Oslo. What to do? I planned several activities and wanted to get to it as soon as possible. I love to sleep in and if I have to get up early that equals to torturing me but that time I was too excited. I got up around 8 am… I know I know. That is not early. For me it is my regular job starts at 10 am so I never wake up before 9. Anyway 8 am in november is when the sun comes up in Oslo so that was my baseline.
I decided to start writing about this trip first because it is vaguely connected to the trip to North Norway which I’m planning now. In these past travel posts I won’t be able to provide an accurate budget for a simple reason: I didn’t make notes. Although I will try my best to give as much as I can.
Here we are. My very first blog post. I’m planning to write a series of posts about this trip and this first one is only a high level plan and some background information. Mostly anecdotes to be honest. In the next one I’ll elaborate on the plan while I am in the process of making it. There I would like to get into budgets and itineraries. That should be the most useful one I’ll provide maps and suggestions. I’m not sure it’ll fit into one blog post we’ll see about that.
About me
Hi I’m Tamás.
I’m a Hungarian guy moved to Czech Republic. I had a girlfriend here so we decided to stay here. I developed my passion for traveling years ago when I went to the Canary islands. We share this passion with my fiancee so most of the time we travel together.
I created this blog so I can share my experiences, talk about my destinations and budgets in a casual way.
It was time. Our two weeks in Norway had begun, and I couldn’t have been happier. Our plane landed in Oslo around 4 PM after a surprisingly comfortable flight. We planned to stay in the city for three nights to ease back into the vibes. After my first visit, I had always wanted to return and experience more. To me, Oslo is a happy place. It’s calm yet lively, and when I crave some noise, I can always find it. The city is incredible, with fresh air and the kind of charm that makes you enjoy simply looking around.
